Dear friends, water is essential for life. Yet many millions of people around the world face water shortages. Many millions of children die every year from water-borne diseases. And drought regularly afflicts some of the world's poorest countries. The world needs to respond much better. 亲爱的朋友，水对生命是至关重要的，然而全世界全球数百万人面临水资源短缺，每年有数百万儿童si于水传播疾病，干旱经常困扰着世界上一些zui贫穷的国家，这个世界需要对此做出更好的反应。 

We need to increase water efficiency, especially in agriculture. We need to free women and girls from the daily chore of hauling water, often over great distances. We must involve them in decision making on water management. We need to make sanitation a priority. This is where progress is lagging most. And we must show that water resources need not be a source of conflict. 我们需要提高用水的效率，特别在农业方面，我们需要把妇女和女孩从每天运水的琐事中解放出来，通常是长途运水，我们必须让他们参与水资源管理的决策，我们需要把卫生作为当务之急，这是进展zui滞后的地方，我们必须表明水资源，不必成为冲突的根源。 

Instead, they can be a catalyst for cooperation. Significant gains have been made. But a major effort is still required. That is why this year marks the beginning of the 'Water for Life' Decade. 实例分析，我们来看一看。 

首先要主题明确。The subject is clear. 

以带着数据的实证，证明主题的重要性。Setting examples with digits to prove the importance of the subject. 

说明演讲要呼吁的事情。State the purpose of the speech. 

列出观众可以做到的事情。List what can be done. 

分析呼吁观众做事的原因。Analyze the reasons of calling on taking measures. 

同样列举演讲者所呼吁行为的好处。 List the advantages of doing what the speaker calls on. 

也要列举真实而宏大的未来计划来鼓励观众。Cite real and great future plans to encourage the audience. 

在中后部分，再次强调劝说观众做这件事情的必要性。Emphasize the necessity of persuading audience to do so. 

将演讲的内容与观众自身利益相联系。Make the subject connected to the interests of audience themselves. 

以表达鼓舞和希望来作为结尾。End with expressing encouragement and hope.
